The P90X System Approach
The scientific basis of the design for the P90X system proves it to be very helpful, effective and efficient to its avid followers. The science of muscle confusion is the scientific theory applied in the creation of the P90X system specifically its exercise routine, the PX90 workout.
Muscle confusion pertains to undertaking different physical activities that provide variety to the body leaving the muscle system clueless of what activity will happen next. When the muscles are confused, they become alert so that they can prepare when the next motions are set to place. This way, the metabolism of the body is increased due to the activity that requires the muscle to look forward to the next motion it needs to perform.
The PX90 workout is able to do this by deploying 12 varieties of exercise movements that can be done in a specific order in a pre-designed routine or can be interchangeably performed depending on the extent of body trimming and toning to be done.
If excessive weight loss is the primary objective in performing the PX90 workout, the more physically intensive exercises should be done frequently. When maintenance of the desired weight is the goal with minor muscle toning, there are also specific exercises out of the 12 varieties that are proven effective for this. If increased in flexibility is the main objective, the whole fitness regimen can be tailored for this. If increased speed and stamina is the desired effect, there are exercise steps that can be given more focus to achieve the wanted results.
